About this article.
This paper was presented at the World Sanskrit Conference held in Torino, Italy, 2000.
Mythology and astronimical Chronology of the Vedas.
Scholars, similar to O.P. Dwivedi, Christopher Key Chapple, usualy interprete the sanskrit word Prithivi as Earth. Ancient verses mention medicinal plants, symbols of asterisms. But indologists emphasize only the healing and resplendent essence of the divinity of nature.
I cannot see any logics in affirmation that “The amazing range of earth images — from mountains to children, butterflies to tree bark — fill the heart with awe and bring to life the beauty of this ancient scripture,” as says Laura Cornell, Ph.D., and Founder of the Green Yoga Association. Focus on earthly matters cannot transform your consciousness.
Such down to earth interpretation is a deviation from the teachings of the ancient masters of Yoga, astronomy and chronoprogramming of the Eternal Calendar.
A new book, published by Loyola Marymount Press, combines a new interpretation of the environmentally themed Sanskrit Veda, The Prithivi Sukta, with beautiful photographs from around the world that illustrate and deepen the environmental and spiritual message of the verses.
