And there lived a merchant named Vimalya, the Sinless One. A rogue named Kutila, the Crooked-Hearted, seeing his two blessed and beautiful wives, desired to belong to them. For this, he honored the most radiant maiden Ambika, Mother Mira, and asked her for the appearance of their husband, Vimalya.

Having acquired a physical resemblance, he appeared in Vimala’s house as master in his absence. The entire collection of servants was captivated by his favor and the gifts he distributed.
