Having thus prepared Lakshmi for her meeting with Guna Mohana, she brought her home that evening. But this Mohana did not appear at the appointed time, due to some circumstances or being busy with other matters. Then, filled with lust, Lakshmi said:
«Bring any man you like.»
And foolish Purna brought her her own husband. Now tell me, or let your friends tell me, what should this Lakshmi do when her husband arrives, how should she get home?»
They replied:
«We don’t know, tell me yourself.»
The parrot replied:
«If you don’t go, I’ll tell you.»
She responded:
«I won’t go.»
Then the parrot continued:
«She, seeing her husband arrive, grabbed him by the hair and cried out in anger:
«Oh, you rogue, you always babbled to me that you had no other lover besides me.» Now I’ve tested you and gotten to know you!
Her husband managed to calm her with gentle words and took her home.
After listening to the parrot’s tale, which aroused both fear and surprise, the merchant’s beloved, who longed for a lover, went to bed and spent the night at home surrounded by her friends.
