The next day, Prabhavati asked the parrot, «Parrot, did the raja finally find out the reason for the fishes’ laughter?» The parrot replied, «The next morning, the raja summoned Balapandita again and asked her, ‘Why were those fish laughing? Speak quickly, maiden.'»
She said, «King, do not insist. You will repent, as a certain brahmin once did, who had become deeply attached to Sthagika.
There is a city on earth named Watsona. There lived a raja named Vira and a brahmin named Keshava. The brahmin once thought, ‘I will not enjoy my father’s inheritance.’ It is said:
The best men are praised for their own virtues, the average for their father’s, the lowest for their uncles, and the lowest for their fathers-in-law.
And again:
Who does not enjoy the inheritance of his father? But rarely do mothers give birth to those who acquire wealth themselves and then let others enjoy it.»
Having reflected thus, he began to wander the world in search of money, visiting holy places, cremation grounds, and cities. One day, as he was walking wearily through a deserted area, he saw a brown tortoise at a cremation ground, in the domain of Karala, in the glorious court of Shiva. And then he noticed a monk sitting cross-legged in Paryankasana (Bed pose) called otherwise Virasana (Hero Pose).
