The next day, Prabhavati, dressed up, said to the parrot:
«What should I do today, parrot? Tell me, honey-mouthed.»
The parrot replied:
«Go, if you have a friend who can help, like one named Shringari.»
Prabhavati asked: «How did it happen?»
The parrot replied:
«There is a place called Rajapuram. There lived a family man named Deva. He had two wives: Shringaravati and Subhaga.

They agreed to protect each other and strictly observed their agreement. They were greedy for other men and were famous for their love affairs.

One day, when Subhaga was in the house with her lover, the husband approached the door from outside with sticks in his hand. The question arises: what should she do?»

And the parrot replied: «The other wife, Shringaravati, threw Subhaga out of the house naked.» The husband asked, «What’s going on here?» And Shringara replied with great respect, «You brought these branches from the goddess Durga’s grove, and that’s why Subhaga is furious. Go and throw them back where you got them, and she’ll recover.»

When the foolish husband went out to do so, Shringaravatī banished her lover from the house.

After hearing this story, Prabhavati fell asleep.
