KEY TO THE VEDAS

Part I

INTEGRAL HERMENEUTICS

Mikhail I. Mikhailov

& Nathalia S. Mikhailova

In India, the Vedas are considered as the most significant scientific productions without blemish or any fault. According to Mahesh Yogi, they are the scientific constitutions of the cosmos composed in perfect accord with the unified field theory.

A Vedic proverb says, 'a person reading Vedas without understanding of the sense is similar to an ass.'

Vedic puzzles and riddles

Yes indeed, great efforts were applied in order to properly understand the Vedas, moreover, the symbolic character of their imagery is already absolutely evident, but the scriptures still remain the greatest secret. I see the explanation of this incapacity to grasp the intentional meaning of the Vedas in the fundamentally different scientific outlook of our civilization and inadequacy of the contemporary text critical methods to seize the complex architectonic of the syncretic Vedic text.

Vedic philosophy is cosmic and universal.

All other religious scriptures were created on the model of the Vedas. All sciences sprung out of them. We must reread carefully without prejudice the message of our ancestors or ancient astronomers-poets, which, if understood correctly, may be of greatest value in this cosmic cyber-era.

Thirty years of dedicated researches yielded many extraordinary discoveries in the field of mythology, encoding, formal structural analysis of the Vedic texts and even the decipherment of the Indus Script. I formulated a calendrical-chronometrical theory and found tons of proofs for its substantiation independently from other researchers. The logic of Vedic research of the last decades led all of us to a new qualitative stage of understanding and interpretation of the Vedas.

Vedas as operational system composed in binary code

Here are present some principles of a new branch of the Vedic Hermeneutics, namely, of the digital scriptural and oral codes forming a synergetic chronometric operational system of a complex analogue-digital bio-computer.

The Vedas represent really an operational system written in binary code of the bio-computer functioning with the only aid of memory and strict recitation. Finally, this ultimate secret and innermost scientific meaning of the great sacred literature is revealed with the aid of modern computer. There is no ground to object the validity of our assumptions and the consistency of our theory on the only formal pretext that they seem to be foolish or inconsistent with such and such tradition of explanation. It is not a modernization; it is a hard argument arrived at by strict calculations and reinforced by the logic of modern indological investigations. Moreover, I see clearly that our interpretation is the only proper model of scientific explanation of the all multiple facts and discoveries accumulated during our own and a number of similar researches. It is not justifiable to reject this theory without examination.

Vedas functioning as a chronometrical digital computer

My approach tends to be purely objective: I want to understand the essence of the most ancient and most deep scriptures in the world in order to properly comprehend the origin of our civilization. By the way, sinology has already demonstrated the validity of many interpretational schemes used by us, which are not still generally accepted in indology due to a sharp political ideological confrontation between nationalists and colonialists, materialists and idealists. We as scientists should try elevating ourselves above this conflict.

If you are still incapable of accepting this theory of specific codes prebuilt in the Vedas functioning as a chronometrical digital computer, at least, you should agree that the great work done during the last ten years and the appearance of a huge mass of new mathematical-astronomical exact data, which have been explored by us with the use of computer, must be known to colleagues as an example of high scientific dedication to the Vedic Studies in the Republic of Belarus which preserved intact in its language thousands of tadbhava and tatsama Sanskrit words including the very word 'veda' in the sense of Science.

Lunar-solar-planetary periods

This new vision had been intensively being formed during the last four decades when I studied Vedic mythology from the astronomical standpoint and found that devas were primarily connected with the Full Moon lunar phases and lunar-solar-planetary periods. This research was intensified with the advent of personal computer in the middle of 90ies. A simple program in Pascal language helped us find dozens of calendar constants in sums of mandalas hymns, which contain all cycles of years and half-years necessary in complex Vedic planetary calendar (Melbourne, 1994).

I could not even resist jumping to a bold assumption that Vedas could represent astronomical paradigms or something like mathematical tables of sines or chords. At that period, however, I did not dream that the key would be found in the nearest future.

A little later, the mathematical congruousness and validity of some interpretations was proved on the basis of theory of probability. Then the idea of ancient Vedic mental computer was formulated with principles of its chrono-mytho-poetics (WSC, Bangalore, 1997). What is more, I collected lunar astronomical data in the Rig-Veda which permitted me to unequivocally connect the Vedas with the beginning period of the Indus civilization (WSC, Turin, 2000.)

Algebraic Science of Binary Encoding

On my return home, we together with my wife Nathalya Mikhailova translated the Pingala's aphorisms and interpreted the Vedic Science of Metrics as an algebraic Science of Binary Encoding developed for the purpose of mapping the sky (New Delhi, 2001.)

I applied this method of decoding to my theory of calendrical computation by means of Vedic mantras with extraordinary results, which do not stop to provoke my rapture even today.

We are on the threshold of a new era of the Vedic Studies opening a harmonious picture of the synthetic Science of the most ancient civilization. The inertia of mind of the majority of scholars fortified by the 'political myopia' of the world leaders and chronic absence of financing may stop this great development for hundreds of years, as it has been already the case with the Vedas in the past. And the greatest scientific message or digital signature of the ancient Indian Vaidic Dharma Cosmic Supercivilization (which is much more powerful than Egyptian messages and the like) will remain hidden under the rubbish of superstitions and ridiculous prejudices for centuries to come.

A new field of exact data

A mathematical-astronomical rereading of the texts considered generally as exclusively philological, religious-philosophical monuments led to the discovery of a new field of exact data demanding new theory of interpretation and interdisciplinary Vedic research.

It is of utmost significance that this theory is verifiable not only by philological means, but also by the Vedic mathematics represented by highly sophisticated and authoritative text of Pingala (sic!) and Vedic observational astronomy of Lagadha and others (sic!).

Vedic inscriptions

Therefore, pure and abstract philological interpretation should be recognized as one-sided, inadequate, misleading and outdated. It should be replaced as quickly as possible by more appropriate interdisciplinary study.

Moreover, a number of Vedic inscriptions have been also read mathematically, logically and in full harmony with the main Vedic calendrical-chronometric concepts such as the Life of Brahma.

Thus, the object of this study was a complex of ancient Vedic Literature and Vedic inscriptions, the methods were primarily philological, but also logical, mathematical and astronomical, the results have included among so many other things discovery of a new field of Vedic studies, a new field of precise data, a new vision and a new theory of Vedic interpretation.
